Scholarships & Support
UBC School of Music attracts brilliant young musicians and scholars from across Canada and around the world. Scholarships, bursaries, fellowships, prizes and service awards empower them to reach higher and achieve more.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS & EQUIPMENT
The School of Music provides students with the opportunity to rehearse and perform on top quality pianos and heritage instruments, record and edit music in a studio setting and more, as part of their professional training.
MASTERCLASSES & VISITING ARTISTS
As part of our program of musical and academic enrichment, the School of Music strives to offer private lessons, symposiums, masterclasses, and more. Distinguished guest faculty from across North America have include opera superstar Ben Heppner to Oscar- and Pulitzer-winning composer John Corigliano.

UBC Choirs comprises five student choirs of different sizes and ability, from the powerful 200-member Choral Union to the exciting and dynamic University Singers.
Canada's most ambitious student opera ensemble, UBC Opera educates and promotes gifted young opera singers while preparing them for international careers. The ensemble presents three opera productions on campus each year, plus two more each summer in the Czech Republic, and numerous other opera-repertoire concerts on and off campus.
UBC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The UBC Symphony Orchestra (UBCSO) is one of the finest student orchestras in North America, preparing many young musicians for professional careers. The 110-member ensemble performs symphonic works from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, giving several concerts during the year, often featuring soloists.
