Make the most of the financial resources available to you as a UBC graduate student.

Tuition fees for graduate students at the School of Music include private lessons and are paid in three installments over the year: September, January and May. You must remain registered throughout the graduate program, including during the summer term.

School of Music funding opportunities

There are several scholarships and bursaries available for incoming and current graduate students. Deadlines vary by award. Please note that deadlines for major entrance scholarships can be as early as December 1.

Applicants to the School of Music’s graduate programs are automatically eligible to receive funding through the Four-Year Fellowship program for doctoral students and the Graduate Student Initiative (GSI), which provides funding at both the master’s and doctoral levels.

Continuing graduate students in the School of Music are eligible to apply for awards from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Affiliated Fellowships program, among other awards programs administered by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
