UBC Music alum Jaeden Izik-Dzurko Wins First Prize at the Leeds 2024 Piano Competition



UBC alum and pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (MMus ’23) has won First Prize at the 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition with his performance of Johannes Brahms Concerto No. 2. 

This is the fifth and largest international piano competition that Izik-Dzurko has been awarded first place at since attending the UBC School of Music. Other prizes include; First Prizes at the 2024 Montreal International Piano Competition, 2022 Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, 2022 Maria Canals International Piano Competition, and 2022 Hilton Head International Piano Competition. He as also received First Prize at the 2023 Borletti-Buitoni Fellowship, 2022 Shean National Piano Competition, 2022 Robert and Ellen Silverman Piano Concerto Competition at UBC, and 2023 UBC Concerto Competition.

While at UBC, Jaeden Izik-Dzurko studied with Professor Corey Hamm and they continue to work together.
