UBC Summer Vocal Workshop

Join UBC Faculty and industry professionals such as Judith Forst, Nancy Hermiston, Dale Throness, Krisztina Szabo and more for two unforgettable weeks of music-making at the beautiful UBC campus in Vancouver, Canada.

The UBC Summer Vocal Workshop is an immersive program designed for singers of different levels from student to emerging professional singers. Participants receive focused high-quality training in a supportive and collaborative environment that makes learning both challenging and fun!

During the Summer Vocal Workshop, participants will:

  • Be cast in fully staged opera or musical theatre scenes
  • Prepare a solo recital for the end of week one
  • Warm up with a “sing in” casual performance on the first day
  • Receive private voice lessons and coachings
  • Participate in masterclasses
  • Receive group instruction in dance, acting, movement & diction
  • Attend open table discussions on subjects like university, life as a professional musician, building websites, resumes, social media and more!
  • Sing in a large ensemble number with all workshop participants as part of the final performance

The UBC Summer Vocal Workshop is open to students and young professionals ages 13+

Day participants – $1,700 for the two week workshop
Overnight participants – $2,800 (includes accommodation and meals for two weeks)

Applications are open until April 30th 2026.

All payments are due by May 29th 2026.

Coming from out of town? No problem! We are happy to provide accommodation in one of the university dorms for the duration of the summer vocal workshop. Overnight participants will have breakfast and dinner supplied.
