About

Joanne Christine is a passionate educator, choral conductor, and voice teacher from the Philippines. She began her musical journey as a singer at a young age, participating in solo vocal competitions and choral performances before pursuing formal training at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Conservatory of Music. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a focus on Voice and later completed a Master of Arts in Music under the mentorship of Prof. Fidel Calalang Jr., her conducting mentor, founder and conductor of the UST Singers.

For nine years, Joanne was a key member of the UST Singers, serving as a soprano, section leader, and soloist, and performing on prestigious stages worldwide.

Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at the University of British Columbia (UBC), under the guidance of Dr. Graeme Langager and Dr. Hyejung Jun. In addition to her studies, she sings with the UBC University Singers and UBC Chamber Choir, co-conducts the UBC Vox Choir, and serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
