About
“Holly Bergeron-Dumaine is a current Ph.D. student in Music Theory. Her areas of interest encompass Music Pedagogy, counter-canonical approaches to Popular Music studies & pedagogy, and analysis of music in video games with an emphasis on Timbre & Genre. After pursuing pre-University studies in Violin and Composition, she earned a B.Mus and M.A. with academic distinctions at McGill University, specializing in Music Theory. In future work, she plans to tackle issues of power, diversity, and representation in Music Pedagogy in higher education through a critical lens, with an eye towards ways in which underrepresented repertoires may benefit students’ experience of learning.”
