Join us in congratulating UBC Music student Emily Liang, MA (2nd year Musicology), for being named one of the Eileen Southern Scholars of the American Musicological Society. Emily was recognized at the Award Ceremony of the AMS annual conference on November 10, 2023, and is the only Canadian recipient of this fund this year.
Emily’s research focuses on material culture, print culture, and archival sources pertaining to Chinatown music history in 1920s and 1930s Vancouver.
