Holly Bergeron-Dumaine is a Ph.D. Student in Music Theory. Her areas of interest encompass Music Pedagogy, counter-canonical approaches to Popular Music studies & pedagogy, and analysis of music in video games with an emphasis on Timbre & Genre.

Holly’s teaching approach emphasizes active learning and metacognition, fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment where learners feel supported, challenged, and empowered. Her work is grounded in evidence-based teaching practices and shaped by extensive training through the UBC Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), where she now takes on a leadership role—facilitating workshops and mentoring fellow teaching assistants.
