Introducing Andrea Grant, Lecturer, Vocal Coach



The UBC School of Music is thrilled to welcome Andrea Grant, who is joining the faculty as a Lecturer for the Voice and Opera Division, beginning August 1, 2022.

“We are so pleased to welcome Andrea Grant to the School of Music. Her depth of experience, both internationally and within the university environment will be an immense benefit to the UBC Opera program.” said T. Patrick Carrabré Director, School of Music and Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

Andrea is a highly sought-after collaborative pianist and vocal coach who enjoys performing in recital, opera and musical theatre productions. She has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists and has performed in North America, Europe, and Hong Kong.

She joins us from the University of Toronto Opera where she was the principal vocal coach. She is currently the Head of Music Staff for Wexford Festival Opera, and a member of the music staff of the Canadian Opera Company and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

Andrea received her BMus (Hons) in Piano Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano from the University of Western Ontario, and a Diploma in Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto. She recently completed a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion through Cornell University.
