Abstract: A discussion of analytic knowledge representation (AKR) for atonal music. Argues that “the identity and arrangements of the elements of a score signify clearly the theoretical concepts … which influence their analytic representation.” Analytic knowledge representation is borne upon by musical information such as timbre and rubato, which are not represented in the traditional musical score.
