Abstract: A discussion of analytic knowledge representation (AKR) for atonal music. Argues that “the identity and arrangements of the elements of a score signify clearly the theoretical concepts ... which influence their analytic representation.” Analytic knowledge representation is borne upon by musical information such as timbre and rubato, which are not represented in the traditional musical score.
