About
Wei Wang is an oboe artist who grew up in China and went on to study for a master’s degree in music in the United States. Now he is a DMA Third-year student at the UBC School of Music. He received his master’s degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and his bachelor’s degree from Xiamen University department of Music in China.
In music, he has won a variety of domestic oboe competition awards, and after graduation from the master’s degree he got the job in Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra in China successfully served as the second oboe. In the past few years, he has performed in Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and other Asian countries, and cooperated with many musicians at China and abroad.
In teaching, he not only holds the position of TA of UBC Music school, but also has students from music schools in the United States, Canada, China, Japan and other countries, with one student successfully admitted to the University of Toronto.
