UBC School of Music faculty and alumni have been nominated for the 2020 Western Canadian Music Awards!
Stephen Chatman, Dorothy Chang and Mark Takeshi McGregor
Faculty composers Dorothy Chang and Stephen Chatman were nominated for Classical Composer of the Year.
Alumnus and flutist Mark Takeshi McGregor (BMus’95, DMA’12) was nominated for Classical Artist of the Year.
And David Gillham, Assistant Professor of Violin performed on the album of composer Marcus Goddard, who was nominated for Classical Composer of the Year.
The Western Canadian Music Alliance (WCMA), created by the music industry associations of B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Yukon Territory, presents the awards to promote and celebrate western Canadian music. This is the 18th year for the WCMAs, which will conclude voting on this year’s winners July 6.
