About

Born in Los Angeles, he began Double Bass studies at the age of 10 years, with Gary Karr and later with Herman Reinshagen. After completing undergraduate studies at USC, he received a masters degree from Juilliard where he studied with Fred Zimmerman.

He recently retired from the Vancouver Symphony after 39 years as a Principal Double Bass. He has been a guest lecturer at Juilliard, New England Conservatory, University of Washington and the Shanghai Conservatory. He was recently appointed artistic advisor of the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra.
