About

Sessional Lecturer and Voice Lyric coloratura soprano, Marisa Gaetanne has sung in opera, oratorio and recitals in Europe, Canada and the United States. She studied extensively in Italy, England (on a Canada Council award) and the United States, and has a background of French immersion (Montréal), and Italian language and literature (Florence). Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions (Northwest Region) and the Eckhardt-Gramatté Competition, Ms. Gaetanne has appeared as soloist in major works with the Vancouver Symphony, Vancouver Bach Choir, Vancouver New Music, Vancouver Early Music and Vancouver Cantata Singers, as well as on C.B.C. radio. She was appointed the U.B.C. faculty in 1999. Ms. Gaetanne is the Music Director of the 300 voice Vancouver Bach Children’s Chorus-a training program for young singers.
