No Blue Memories: The Life of Gwendolyn Brooks
Ingenious multimedia theatre troupe Manual Cinema presents their tribute to Gwendolyn Brooks, an incredible poet, educator, and advocate who was the first African-American to win the Pulitzer Prize. 

  • Arrive early to hear the newest ChanFare in the lobby. The ChanFare for Feb 24 is composed by UBC Music student Maggie Lu and performed by Thunderbird Brass (UBC Music students Matheus Moraes trumpetSilas Friesen trumpetKristin Ranshaw horn, Kevin Jackson tromboneTakami Hayashi tuba).ChanFares are commissioned by the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. They are written and performed by students from the UBC School of Music.

Musica Universalis: Music of the Spheres
Vancouver Cantata Singers
Musica Universalis, or ‘universal music’, refers to an ancient philosophical concept that the movement of celestial bodies creates their own music based on the mathematical proportions and vibrations of their inter-relational orbits. The Vancouver Cantata Singers brings you a concert of 19th century and contemporary works, exploring the poetry and music of the planets and heavenly spheres.
Works by Erik Ešenvalds, Ola Gjeilo, Robert Schumann, Stephen Chatman, Craig Galbraith & Larry Nickel.
