Winner: Carter Johnson piano
Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26
Runner Up: Carlos Savall-Guardiola clarinet
Francaix Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, Op. 36

Carter will perform with the UBC Symphony Orchestra at the Chan Centre on March 9, 2018.

Six-time JUNO nominee John Stetch pushes the boundaries of classical and jazz. Navigating between styles, Steinway Artist Stetch re-imagines and improvises Chopin's Heroic Polonaise in A-flat, Bach's Italian Concertoand Mozart's Sonata in B-Flat Major, K. 333. He'll also play some classic jazz standards and original compositions.

Royal Over-Seas League UK Scholarship for a BC Emerging Musician

Featuring performances by UBC Music students.
The recipient of the scholarship will go to the UK in summer 2018 to perform in London and in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, attend a UK Summer Music School, and receive lessons from prominent UK teachers.

Curated by Maestro Bramwell Tovey and VSO Composer-in-Residence Jocelyn Morlock, the festival also features internationally-renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine.
