UBC Wednesday Noon Hours presents an hour of Romantic and late-Romantic piano repertoire including Grieg’s Arietta and the poetic elegance of Chopin’s Mazurka and Nocturne. The hour then unfolds into Beethoven’s fiery Appassionatam Sonata and continues with Ysaÿe’s Ballade, arranged for piano, showcasing virtuosic flair and lyrical depth, before culminating in Balakirev’s dazzling Islamey, renowned for its breathtaking technical brilliance.
