Maestro Jonathan Girard returns to lead the UBC Symphony Orchestra in its first concert of the season with a program that includes the late Maestro Bramwell Tovey’s soaring Sky Chase, Pixinguinha’s (Alfredo da Rocha Viana Filho) Carinhoso* (arr. J. Girard), the Canadian Première of Brazilian composer Ernani Aguiar’s Sinfonietta Prima, and Dvořák’s joyful and profound Symphony No. 8 in G Major.
