The UBC Contemporary Players Ensemble is a dynamic and eclectic program of music featuring world-renown contemporary masterworks, as well as newly commissioned works by UBC composers.
Featuring Composer-in-Residence Ana Sokolović
A key figure in contemporary music, composer Ana Sokolović was born in Belgrade, Serbia and is based in Montreal since 1992. With a background in the rhythmic universe of Balkan folklore, her music is coloured with playful images and inspired by differing artistic disciplines.
Program includes performance of Sokolović’s Géométrie Sentimentale (1997) for chamber orchestra.
