Biographies
Bèro was born in Latakia, Syria. He comes from a musical family where his father plays the Oud and his grandfather is a locally known folk singer in Syria. He founded Tishreen University band and he played with Vancouver Inter-cultural Orchestra, Laoadessa band, and Trhal band to name a few. He currently attempts to revive Arabic music at UBC by leading a Middle Eastern Music Circle for students in the Arab students Association at UBC. With such an epic sound fusing jazz with Middle Eastern traditional music, Bero Saker’s years of experience in playing the Oud come to impress the audience again and again.
Bassem has nearly 20 years experience in playing Jazz, Arabic, and pop in Cairo.  He has performed in numerous hotels and wedding venues including the Nile Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Nile Kempinski, the Semiramis Intercontinental Cairo, Intercontinental City Stars, and the Four Seasons Hotels (Giza and Nile Plaza). He has also performed in the Cairo Jazz Festival in Egypt. Bassem has always had this oriental influence on his classical and jazzy piano playing. He touches the hearts of his audience as his performances are always memorable.
