The Baccalaureate Concert is a free annual concert in honour of our graduating students, featuring outstanding young artists from the UBC School of Music.

Wed May 22
Baccalaureate Concert
Featuring UBC's graduating students

8:00 pm, Chan Centre

This celebration concert is jam-packed with brilliant performances and gorgeous melodies. Over 30 students of the graduating class, who will have received their degrees earlier in the day, are proud and excited to perform on the Chan Centre stage making music for you to cap off their years of learning and playing music together at UBC.

Piano solos, chamber masterworks, delightful opera arias by Mozart and Bernstein, plus a popular Neapolitan song are just the beginning of the celebration. The evening of musical adventures continues with exotic turns via Ravel and Piazzolla, a jazzy piano solo by a student composer and a nine-piece jazz band. Adding to the celebratory music making is a special guest appearance by UBC President Santa J. Ono performing cello in one of the chamber groups.
