A Quinary, out now on Redshift Records, features five new concerti by five Canadian composers, including UBC’s Prof. Dorothy ChangProf. Stephen ChatmanDr. Jocelyn Morlock, and Edward Top, played by five Canadian performers. A Quinary was conceived and spearheaded by flutist and sessional lecturer Paolo Bortolussi, who also performs on the album.

Composer Christopher Tyler Nickel (BMus’01) released Music for Woodwind Choirs on the Centrediscs label. Conducted by Clyde Mitchell, the album includes “Suite for Two Oboes and Two English Horns” and “Symphony for Flute Choir,” performed by UBC faculty Roger Cole (oboe), Beth Orson (oboe), Christie Reside (flute), Paolo Bortolussi (flute) and others.
